For those of you that are not aware, Sunset lakes on March 26th got hit by the outer bands of a severe hail storm. It came to my attention when a villa that was being sold had an inspection and the inspector pointed out that there was hail damage. A recommended roofer (Kam) came and checked and agreed to the damage.
Since then I have had the same roofer check all the homes I look after, add some additional ones. He has confirmed there has been hail damage, and to contact their insurance. Since then we have had some approvals and some refusals, is we have just had another 2 approved, 1 in SVC and 1 in Rising Star. The first roof has just finished being replaced.
Of course Kam would love to get more business from Sunset Owners, but he just wants to make all Owners aware of aggressive roofing company's which have appeared on Sunset and have been confirmed to me by an Owner.
They will try to get you to sign a AOB form (Assignment Of Benefit) before inspecting your roof, this gives that roofer full access to your home owners insurance policy and cuts you out of your claim. You basically lose all rights to your claim and if don't go with them and use another company, they will still hold you liable and come after you for a % of the roof claim.
So please be aware.
If you require Kam's info please contact me and I will pass on your details, if not there is no need to read on. Kam will ask for you to sign an agreement not an AOB, this just says he has your permission to act on your behalf and you will allow him to be your roofer. There is no charge for him to check your roof and he will liaise with your insurance company and meet their adjuster on site.
